Valves are an integral part of every gas burner system and we offer you valves in several categories including ball valves, butterfly valves, automatic safety shut-off valves and solenoid valves. Depending on your industrial or commercial combustion system, you'll need an assortment of different types and styles of gas valves. If you have any questions or can't find what you are looking for, call or email us now!

Butterfly Valve
Like all valves the butterfly valve helps to control the flow of a liquid or gas. The butterfly valve, like the ball valve, is classified as a quarter turn valve. In the case of the butterfly valve, a metal disc is employed - mounted on a rod that runs through a threaded or flanged casting mounted in the gas or air piping. Valve actuators are then integrally mounted so modulation, or flow control, can be determined automatically by the control system. Butterfly valves are also manufactured out of different materials to compensate for various pressure levels. Cast iron valves are common, while stainless steel and other alloys can be used where excessive temperatures and pressures are present. While butterfly valves are not meant to be a positive shut-off device, they are excellent for modulation of gaseous fuels and/or air supplies.

Ball Valve
The ball valve is also a member of the quarter turn valve classification. In the case of the ball valve, the "ball" is set in a cast body with a rounded hole which can be rotated to allow free flow or to throttle the available. The "ball" itself can be manufactured out of plastic or metal and some ball valves also incorporate ceramic in their centers, but standard construction for water, oil or gas (natural, propane, etc.) use is usually a brass body with a stainless steel ball with a suitable self lubricating seal. Ball valves are known to be a durable valve option, easy to replace and repair and they are the best choice for shut-off applications when compared to a butterfly valve. Ball valves are widely used in industrial applications.

Automatic Gas Valves
NO combustion system is safe without a flame safety controller, and the automatic gas valve is the slave, shutting off the flow of fuel when an unsafe condition exists. Automatic gas valves can open in a couple of seconds or as long as 15 seconds, depending on the combustion system design, but a quality valve will slam shut in less than one second. Most safety codes also require a proof of valve closure switch integral to the valve to prove to the control system that the valve is completely closed when de-energized.

Solenoid Valve
A solenoid valve is the low cost version of an automatic gas valve and is essentially a valve controlled by electricity that is either open or closed. While a ball valve will have a handle that aligns with its position (open or closed) a solenoid valve offers an on and off switch. The solenoid converts an electrical impulse into the mechanical action of opening or closing the valve which is installed within the pipe itself.
